(2) Whoever wilfully refuses to produce on the demand of an inspector any register or other document kept in pursuance of this Act or prevents or attempts to prevent or does anything which he has reason to believe is likely to prevent any person from appearing before or being examined by an inspector acting in pursuance of his duties under the Act, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
(1) (i) The Central Government may appoint one of its officials as Secretary to the Board and appoint such other staff as it may think necessary to enable the Board to carry out its functions. (ii) The salaries and allowances payable to the staff and the other conditions of service of such staff shall be such as may be decided by the Central Government. The Secretary-(i)shall assist the Chairman in convening meetings of the Board ; (ii)may attend the meetings but shall not be entitled to vote at such meetings ; (iii)shall keep a record of the minutes of such meetings; and (iv)shall take necessary measure to carry out the decisions taken at meetings of the Board.
